Michigan Good Sam Club To Host “Race for the Checker Flag” Samboree
The Michigan Good Sam Club will host its annual summer Samboree July 19-22, 2007 at Allegan Fairgrounds in Allegan Michigan. This year’s theme will be “Race for the Checker Flag” and will provide RVers with seminars, vendors, and a weekend of games and activities geared toward the entire family.
Nightly Jam Sessions and Bingo will begin on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 and will last throughout the weekend. On Thursday, July 19, 2007 there will be craft classes in the morning followed by a Ladies Tea in the afternoon. Opening Ceremonies will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with several speakers. Events on Friday, July 20, 2007 begin with a morning Golf Scramble, an arts and crafts competition, a pet show, and a horseshoe tournament. Also taking place will be a Red Hat Lunch, serving hors d'oeuvres and punch for women, and a Single Sam hour for single members. The bike rodeo and the crowning of the King and Queen, Prince and Princess, and Little Samantha and Little Sam of the Samboree will take place on Friday night.
Activities on Saturday, July 21, 2007 include a First Timers Reception and a tractor rodeo. There will be a King and Queen Tea followed by rig decorating and a teen scavenger hunt. The Parade of Flags will take place Saturday evening as well as the distribution of Chapter Awards. “Rivoli” will provide the entertainment for the night along with the “Noise Parade”, beginning at 11:00 p.m.
Other activities include arts and crafts, bingo, games, golf tournaments, seminars, parades, vendor exhibits, and several bike and tractor activities. Participants are asked to dress up to the theme and enjoy the entertainment each evening.
The Samboree will conclude on Sunday, July 22, 2007 with a Church Service followed by a “Cross of the Roses” Ceremony for all members who have died over the past year.
