Over 200 RVs Expected to be On-Site

Tomah, WI – May 3, 2007 - Good Sam Club members from all parts of Wisconsin and states beyond will converge upon Recreation Park in Tomah to take part in the Spring State Samboree scheduled for June 14-17. “The Roaring Twenties” Samboree promises a fun-filled weekend of activities, seminars and entertainment with more than 500 attendees expected.

Each day will be packed with entertainment featuring events such as indoor and outdoor games, youth activities, door prizes and raffles. A flea market/craft fair will also be held.

Free coffee and cookies will be available to attendees every morning with a free hot dog lunch offered at noon on Friday. A theme-based rig decorating contest and costume parade will take place on Friday evening.

In addition to the extensive activity line-up, nightly entertainment will be provided. Highlighting the weekend entertainment will be a Charleston dance competition with the finals taking place on Saturday evening.

The event will wrap up with a special non-denominational worship service on Sunday morning.

RVing Economic Impact Facts:
  • According to a new University of Michigan study commissioned by RVIA, nearly one in 12 U.S. vehicle-owning households now owns an RV.  That’s nearly eight million households — a 15 percent increase over the past four years and a 58 percent gain since 1980.
  • Based on the latest RV buying trends, by 2010, RVs will be owned by 8.5 million households.
  • On average RV travelers spend about $91 per night in the community local to their chosen campground on gasoline, goods and groceries, according to the Recreation Industries Research Center at Michigan State University.
