THE AMERICAN COUNCIL OF TRAVEL MAKES THEIR DEBUE
Las Vegas provided the backdrop for Grant Miller to introduce The American Council of Travel to the leisure time travel industry.
Made up of individual travel clubs and their strategic partners; ACT is intended to provide a clear voice and establish “best practices” for the travel club industry. Whether they have a general membership or serve a specific affinity group, travel clubs are distinct in that they provide exclusive reservation services that embrace the entire leisure time travel industry – provide an effective vehicle for delivering time bound specials offered by others in the industry – and absorb excess inventory from time share and cruise companies in exchange for savings for their members.
According to Grant, who is the newly elected President of ACT: “Travel Clubs have evolved to a stage – and taken on a form - where there is now a need to educate legislators and regulatory agencies about their unique structure. The outcomes of these efforts will be more effective oversight and consumer protections that will allow this niche within the travel industry to flourish in the future.”
By establishing the standards for “best practices” to insure excellence and value in the areas of sales and members services; ACT provides a forum that embraces all elements
of the travel industry and facilitates a network of strategic alliances that will maximize revenues and minimize costs for everyone involved.
