Emerging Technology From Lafayette Landmen Set To Revolutionize Industry Creates 24/7 Real Time, Secure, Web-Based Data Transmission

(Lafayette, La.) - American Land partners, Tim Supple and Richard Hines, spent the first 20 years of their partnership creating a successful land company in Louisiana. Five years ago, they decided to take the next step in becoming the most successful land company in the United States. In the process of developing technology to more quickly transmit data to their clients, the partners ended up producing technology that is transforming the land industry. As a result, they closed their land company and started American Data Corporation, devoting all of their efforts to bringing the petroleum land business into a new age of technology.

Today Supple and Hines are marketing a technology,, which is changing the way that data is transmitted to oil and gas companies. makes it possible for landmen to transmit ownership, leasing and contract information 24/7 via a web-based, secure, real time, and tract-based technology.

Prior to this creation, landmen could only transmit data via hard copy or standard spreadsheet and word processing documents. These traditional and cumbersome methods meant a lag-time of three to six months or longer from the time the data is collected in the field until it is in the hands of the energy company decision-makers. It also meant that data needed to be checked and double-checked after being compiled, often creating redundant work efforts.

"We had to tackle the complexity of all of the information, land maps, contracts and data that the energy companies need to have in place before they can begin the drilling process," said Tim Supple, president of "Since we worked and managed our own land company, we know what the challenges and needs of the landmen in the field are day to day. We also know what the oil and gas companies need."

Landmen constitute the business side of the oil, gas and mineral exploration and production team. Company landmen negotiate deals and trades with other companies and individuals, draft contracts (and administer their compliance), acquire leases and ensure compliance with governmental regulations.

Independent field landmen are generally the industry's contact with the public as they research courthouse records to determine ownership, prepare necessary reports, locate mineral/land owners, negotiate oil and gas leases and other agreements, obtain necessary curative documents and conduct surface inspections before drilling.

Independent land consultant efforts are directed to due diligence examinations required in the purchase and sale of companies and properties. organizes tracts and chain of title information while producing instant reporting in PDF and Excel formats. The technology creates, edits, saves, and prints lease forms. It tracks the progress of lease acquisition from start to finish and is secure and private. All of that information can be transmitted instantly to energy companies from land companies thereby updating data, maps, leases and title information in real time. uses digital map data to display GIS maps containing energy companies current holdings, whether they are non-producing or producing mineral leases, rights of way, seismic permits, options, etc. By linking the map to the database, now gives everyone in the project the ability to have the proper mapping display so decisions can be made with real time accuracy.

"It was important for us to make sure the technology was user-friendly and adaptable to individual company needs," said Hines. "Like any technology, we continue to advance the development of ours to ensure it meets the needs of our clients."

The secure web-based technology is accessible 24/7 and takes advantage of the latest data transmission technology, everything from broadband to wireless access.
