GOOD SAM CLUB MEMBERS HELP YOUR COMMUNITY GET READY FOR SUMMER
The National Cleanup Day is an annual event sponsored by the Good Sam Club (GSC), which is the world’s largest RV owner’s organization with nearly 1 million member families. GSC, headquartered in Ventura, California, is a subsidiary of Affinity Group, Inc. Recreation vehicle (RV) owners from all 50 states and 8 Canadian provinces are expected to participate in this nationwide litter cleanup event.
This year’s 10th annual National Cleanup Day campaign slogan is "It's Your Land! Volunteer and Make a Difference." The goal of this program is to clean many public areas that might be neglected due to diminishing funds for state and federal parks.
Good Sam created the National Cleanup Day campaign in 1996 as the Good Sam Club was celebrating its 30th anniversary. Then, the goal was to have each Good Sam member pick up one piece of trash on any public land on a particular day. Today, the Good Sam Club is asking everyone in the U.S. and Canada to lend a hand and reach down to pick up at least one piece of trash as they celebrate their 40th anniversary. Cleanup Day is just one way that GSC re-commits itself to the National "Take Pride in America" program.
The Good Sam Club chapters in your state and in your community will participate in this program. The Bay Area Sams will participate by cleaning up during their campout at Camp Lemora RV Park, Hwy. 301 and Dead River Road, Thonotasassa, Florida. On Saturday, May 27 the chapter will clean the campground area and surrounding roads in the area.
We would appreciate any coverage you can provide to this important event.
