(Collinsville, OK) - Since its 1966 inception, the Good Sam Club, the world's largest organization of RV owners, has believed in the importance of being a Good Samaritan, both on and off the road. In their generous and continued response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Good Sam Club members across the United States and Canada have proven that this belief is still strongly held within the organization. Nowhere has the Good Sam spirit been more visible than in the ongoing relief efforts of Oklahoma Good Sam Club members.

Oklahoma Good Sam Club Members Continue Giving to Hurricane Relief Funds

(Collinsville, OK) - Since its 1966 inception, the Good Sam Club, the world's largest organization of RV owners, has believed in the importance of being a Good Samaritan, both on and off the road. In their generous and continued response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Good Sam Club members across the United States and Canada have proven that this belief is still strongly held within the organization. Nowhere has the Good Sam spirit been more visible than in the ongoing relief efforts of Oklahoma Good Sam Club members.

In a recent statewide fundraising effort, Oklahoma Good Sam Club members collected nearly $6,200 for Gulf Coast hurricane relief. In addition, multiple Oklahoma Good Sam Club chapters and members have donated money to hurricane-related causes independent of the statewide effort. One chapter alone, the Red Bird Sams of Collinsville, Okla., raised and contributed $400 to aid hurricane victims.

The Oklahoma relief drives were part of a nationwide effort, inspired by the Good Sam Club home office, which challenged its members and chapters to raise money for hurricane relief. Thousands of Good Sam Club chapters and members across the United States and Canada have responded, donating more than $60,000 to related causes thus far.

"We would like to extend our thanks to our Oklahoma Good Sam chapters, officers and members," said Sue Bray, Executive Director of the Good Sam Club. "At Good Sam Club, we pride ourselves on our service to our fellow man, and our members' continued effort to raise money for the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita is an outstanding example of this principle. We greatly appreciate all our Oklahoma members have done to uphold the name of the Good Sam Club, and we know our Gulf Coast neighbors are appreciative of their efforts, as well."
