4,000 Good Sam Club Members Join National Cleanup Program
"Help Preserve our Public Lands"
(Ventura, CA) - Recreation vehicle owners from all 50 states and 8 Canadian provinces are expected to participate in this weekend's National Cleanup Day, a nationwide litter cleanup event sponsored by the Good Sam Club. 2005 marks the program's 10th consecutive year and will center on the theme, "Helping Preserve our Public Lands." The goal of this program is to clean public areas, campgrounds and public parks that need a helping hand.
The Good Sam Club created the National Cleanup Day campaign in 1996 as the organization was celebrating its 30th anniversary. Then, the goal was to have each Good Sam member pick up one piece of trash on any public land on a particular day. Today, the Good Sam Club has partnered with Take Pride in America, a national volunteer program that aims to encourage support and recognize volunteers that serve on our public lands. In harmony with Take Pride's motto "It's Your Land, Lend a Hand," Good Sam Club is asking everyone in the United States and Canada to reach down to pick up at least one piece of trash. Cleanup Day is just one way that the Good Sam Club recommits itself to the national "Take Pride in America" program.
On May 13, Good Sam Club and Take Pride will be joining forces with the Tennessee Good Sam members to cleanup the James E. Ward Agricultural Center in Lebanon, Tennessee. Joining Tennessee Good Sam Members at the cleanup will be Take Pride in America Executive Director Marti Allbright.
