(Opelousas, Louisiana)- The temperature isn't the only thing that is still hot during the month of October. Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino in Opelousas is preparing to host their first ever Louisiana Music Festival, so pull out your dancing shoes and prepare to have a time you'll never forget. The Festival will be held this Saturday, October 23 at Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino in Opelousas. Concerts are scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon and will run until 10:00 P.M.

Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino "Spicin' Up" Saturday
Louisiana's Hottest Acts to Bring Local Flavor to the Stage

(Opelousas, Louisiana)- The temperature isn't the only thing that is still hot during the month of October. Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino in Opelousas is preparing to host their first ever Louisiana Music Festival, so pull out your dancing shoes and prepare to have a time you'll never forget.

The Festival will be held this Saturday, October 23 at Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino in Opelousas. Musicians from all across the state will have the opportunity to take the stage and provide fans with a variety of sounds, from Country to Zydecajun. Concerts are scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon and will run until 10:00 P.M. The lineup is as follows:

12:00-1:10 Jamie Bergeron & the Kickin Cajuns
1:30-2:30 Nathan Williams & the Zydeco Cha Chas
2:40-3:40 River Road
4:00-5:00 Bluerunners
5:30-6:40 Louisiana's Leroux
7:00-8:00 Kenny Wayne
8:30-10:00 Wayne Toups

Officials at Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino would like to remind everyone that no outside food and beverages, lawn chairs, or pets will be allowed. In addition, all those attending the event must be at least 21 years of age.

Saturday's concerts will be general admission with festival seating. Tickets are only $20 a person for the entire day and are still available for all interested in taking part in this action-packed day. Individuals wishing to purchase tickets for the Festival may do so by either visiting the Evangeline Smoke and Gift Shop, located inside Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino or by calling 337-594-3119.

The excitement does not end with the Louisiana Music Festival at Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino, however. Morris Day and The Time wrap up the October concert series during the final weekend. The group will appear on stage October 30 singing some of their greatest hits, which include "Jungle Love," "What Time Is It," "Ice Cream Castles," and "Oak Tree." The concert is set to begin at 8:00 P.M.
