Eighth Annual EatLafayetteTM Kick-Off Event


(Lafayette, La.) - The eighth annual EatLafayette campaign, brought to you by The New Fly Lafayette Club and Robert Mondavi Wines, promotes over 60 locally-owned restaurants in Acadiana. The Lafayette Convention & Visitors Commission and local and national businesses sponsor the campaign and a nominal fee is collected from each restaurant. A multimedia campaign will promote the restaurants and promotions taking place during the eight-week campaign. The EatLafayette kick-off event, A Taste of Lafayette, is set for Tuesday, June 19, 2012.


The official website, www.eatlafayette.com, has a complete listing of all the participating restaurants. The campaign runs June 18 - August 15, 2012.

WHO:


43 EatLafayette restaurants will provide samples of their food. Tickets are required for admission. Townsquare Media radio stations and KLFY are conducting giveaways.



Gerald Breaux, who recently announced his retirement as executive director at Lafayette Convention & Visitors Commission (LCVC), and Ben Berthelot, who is the new executive director at LCVC, as well as restaurant owners and sponsors who are participating in the kick-off event will be available for media interviews. Co-founder of EatLafayette, Charlie Goodson, owner of Charley G's, will also be in attendance.
