LAFAYETTE, LA (February 2012) – Lafayette, Louisiana’s Spa Mizan Salon & Spa, owned by Ginger Louviere, was recently named to the SALON TODAY 200 by SALON TODAY magazine, the top business publication for salon and spa owners.

The magazine’s 15th annual SALON TODAY 200 issue profiled the selected salons in its January/February 2012 edition. The 200 salons were selected for their best business practices from applications submitted by SALON TODAY readers, who represent the 25,000 top-producing salons and spas in the country.
The magazine honored Spa Mizan in the following best business categories: Growth, Recruitment and Training and Technology.

Their willingness to share their success offers our readers important business benchmarks and fresh, sales-building ideas.”
Spa Mizan is 8,500 square feet of luxurious salon and spa facilities located at 2319 Kaliste Saloom in Lafayette, Louisiana. Spa Mizan is designed for the ultimate in beauty, relaxation and pampering body care services, each carefully conceived and meticulously thought out to reflect Spa Mizan’s mission in creating extraordinary spa experiences.
Owner Ginger Louiviere’s background was in nursing before going into esthetics. She has been a Medical Esthetician for over 20 years and started with her first business, DermaTronics that led to the current Spa Mizan. She was a Certified Esthetics Trainer for AVEDA Corporation and a Certified Medical Esthetics Trainer for Cosmedix Medical Esthetics. In 2010, she expanded her AVEDA concept salon and spa.
Ginger still practices daily with clients in addition to managing one of the most successful day spas on the Gulf Coast. She brings the latest in products, technology and training to her staff so that they can provide the services that meet her high standards.
Her goal with her facility is to create a place that serves women and men of all walks of life. She planned and searched for four years for the right place to create the current Spa Mizan Salon & Spa. As a full-service salon and spa, she offers hair, make up, nails, body treatments, Vichy shower, facials and a menu of nearly 100 services.
When most people would kick back and be complacent with the success of a business, she is the consummate business-woman – always seeking to be better and to do better. Her customers who often call her friend and confidant cherish Ginger. She brings peace to the soul, while treating the body.
She loves being a grandmother. She and her husband, Dana, find time to entertain friends and travel to see their family while managing a world-class operation.

For a salon to be named to the SALON TODAY 200, it had to meet the following criteria: 1) The salon or spa opened on or before January 1, 2009. 2) The salon is a provider of professional salon services including one, or more, of the following: hair care, nail care, skin care, body care or spa treatments; 3) The salon or spa generated annual service and product sales revenues of at least $250,000 per year since 2009; 4) The owner provided statistical information about his or her business and completed at least one of the Best Practice category essay sections; and 5) The applicant submitted documentation to verify financials if he or she competed in the growth category.
In the commemorative January/February 2012 issue, SALON TODAY profiled 200 individual salons, although these salons could be honored in more than one category. The 2012 SALON TODAY 200 honored 100 salons in growth; 27 in Compensation and Benefits; 27 in Retention and Referral Programs; 25 in Customer Service; 29 in Recruitment and Training; 21 in Advanced Education; 24 in Marketing; 35 in Environmental Sustainability; 27 in Philanthropy; 17 in Retail and Merchandising; and 28 in Technology.
