About the Great Cloth Diaper Change
The Great Cloth Diaper Change℠ 2011 was conceived and organized by a small group of cloth diaper enthusiasts that were eager to show the world that cloth diapers are a real option for today’s families. Organizer Judy Aagard’s of the Real Diaper Industry Association (RDIA) desire to celebrate Earth Day by hosting a family event quickly morphed into a dream to set the Guinness World Record™ for the most cloth diapers changed simultaneously. This world record attempt is a great way to show the world how many people are already choosing and using reusable cloth diapers successfully. The initial plan was to develop an infrastructure for any cloth-diapering fan globally to be able to get involved in, either as a participant or an organizer. Word quickly traveled across the oceans and it was soon evident that cloth diapering has a formidable following not just in North America but around the world. Currently over 400 locations worldwide will be hosting events to help set the World Record. The intention is to raise the awareness that cloth diapers are a viable option today.
About Tereson Dupuy
New Orleans native Tereson Dupuy is the founder and inventor and patent holder for FuzziBunz® pocket-style cloth reusable diapers. Tereson is often called the “Mother of the Modern Cloth Diaper.” This determined mother-of-three invented FuzziBunz® diapers in January 1999 because her four-month old son, Eden, was suffering from chronic diaper rash. She tried every cloth and disposable diapering system on the market to no avail. After an exhaustive search, Tereson knew there had to be a better option and that’s when she invented the modern cloth diapers, now known as FuzziBunz®. Today, FuzziBunz® diapers are found in hundreds of online and in-store boutiques and have been used by millions of babies around the world.
